Had an xfx 9800gt since xmas day, powered with thermaltake w0099 (dedicated VGA supply 250w 2 x 12v rails with 25amps). worked fine up until now..
Came to use it today and the new thermaltake supply LED is flickering fast. I check in manual and this means there is only between 0.2 and 2amp load. When I turn on, I hear 9800gt fan spin but no VGA signal
Removed thermaltake supply and used system supply 480w with molex to 6 pin adapter. The whole system will not even start up this way. When I remove 6 pin external power from 9800gt, the system starts but of course I have the red LED on the card and no VGA signal.
I've taken 9800gt and TT PSU out now and I am using my old 8600gt again with system PSU.
can anyone advise on what i should do next? Is the card dead?
