I have around 2,000$ dollars to spend on a top of the line gaming comp. i really enjoy fps games. here is what i was looking at. i want top of the line graphics and performance! please give me your openion on what i should or should not change. also the last comp i built was a p4HT so ive been out of the technology world for about 5 or so years. Which Vista OS system should i go with? should i wait on the built for 09? is anything new launching soon? dont want to waste my money if something bigger and better is comign out in 2 months! thanks!
if you're into Antec's cases, they have a 1200 model that's newer than their 900. Normally, it probably wouldn't matter, but since you're building a gaming PC it would probably be beneficial for you.
With this monitor the 4870x2 is big time overkill for your rig. (max 1600x1000). The graphics card is made to runn at 2500x1600.
Also your powersupply is over kill as well. Can down grade to the 750 model. (unless you plan on putting this card in sli.)
The parts you listed don't equal up to $1915...Is the monitor put into this price? Can you repost all the items you are looking at getting. Including items like the monitor, keyboard, mice, heat sink, ect...
Sorry for all the questions but knowing this info we can refine your rig and make sure your getting the best bang for your buck kind of system.
thanks! i was looking into that. case just seems huge! but looks like its a very cool running case with great air flow! thanks squill
Yeah, the case is kinda big, but hey, at least you know that even if a video card or something is really big, or if you want to customize it more, you still have that option.
oh yeah, and it has the option for water cooling, so I guess that extends it's usefulness even more
Personaly i'd say go with the antec 900. This will save you a few bucks and keep you under your $2000 dollar budget. But this would be a pretty nice build at that price. (Not sure about heat sink sorry) but i'd guess ~$50.
