I have a compaq presario v3000 and I would like to know if I can upgrade it (It has twin Mobile Intel 945 Express processors with on board graphics cards). I read no but the thread i found was 2 years old. The main reason I'm asking is because my computer which has Vista home basic and 2GB of RAM, plus another 1.75 going in readyboost can't even run Sim City 4 without graphics errors so I think either there's a problem or I need to upgrade. Thank (I'm sorry if I've left out any important info)

Two things ,,, socket compatibility and psu output,,,, will it support today's cpu's and can it provide the power or accept an off the shelf psu...The best source should be the documentation that came with it.... ??.. :)

Dokk2 I have no idea where to find any of that, it didn't come with any helpful documentation, their site is horrible. My budget is currently 150 pounds but I would like all the options that don't go above 300 as I can raise more.

Then sadly no, better to save your money for a full system build. You'll get more bang for your buck that way. If you can afford 300 pounds then another 200 pounds will get you a pretty good system.
