Creating custom cables using braided cover and heatsink problem

Hi I want to tidy up some of the cabling inside my new pc. I have seen a few articles online regarding how to use braided cabling tidy and heatsink material.

The problem that I have is that my connectors are moulded to the wires and although I may be able to get the braid over the wires the heatsink material wont go.

I could cable tie the ends down, but not shrink them using the heat shrink.

Or I could get a larger diameter heatshrink and stretch it. But the problem then would be that once heated it may not fit snuggly enough.

What can I do?

Imo, tape the wires with some electrical tape and you are set. Electrical tape is cheap and easy to use not to mention they come in different colors (heck I have even seen pink, and orange electrical tape)

Also re-name the title of this thread to "Heatsrink cabling help" not heat sink.
