I'm about to upgrade my PC with an SSD and I have available a Crucial C300 128GB and a Vertex EX SLC 60GB.

The 60GB SSD is worth 2x more than the 128GB, but it's not as fast and not as big.

I'm a home user. I surf the net, watch some videos, play some games. Which should I use, which should I discard?

I would say neither... the Crucial is a SATA III interface, so unless your board supports it, you won't get the full benefit of the SSD. The Vertex EX SLC isn't worth the cost... IMO

Do you not have access to either the OCZ Vertex 2 or Agility 2 50GB or 100GB models? I would recommend them along with the Intel X25-M G2 80GB or 160GB over any of those two drives you've picked.

The thing is, I have access to a Vertex EX for a price cheaper than that of the C300 (witch I already bought).

If you already have the C300, I would just stick with it versus going with the Vertex Ex... IMO

Don't listen to tecmo34. Sorry but SLC >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> MLC and it is not even close. The sustained write of the Vertex EX will blow the C300 out of the water.
