Question about hyper transport

so i have an amd 8650 phenom triple core proc. now its to my knowledge having a 3600ht and the board that i am running it on says that it has 2000ht or something along those lines and then i realized that theres boards with 5200ht now my question is this: will my 8650 processor work better on a board with more than 2000ht such as one with 5200ht this is some complelty new stuff to me so really any help is greatly appreciated

so say if i do go with a board with higher hyper transport then later on i could upgrade my processor to one that runs 5200? because so far what ive read is that my8650 even though it has 3600ht because of my board will downgrade itself to only use 2000 this is actually pretty confusing to me lol most stuff like this i do understand but this is crazy anyways thank you very much for making it clear enough that there would be some performance increase
