I want to buy the 9600GT 512MB GDDR3 card. How much power supply will I need? I want to watch HD movies and also play games at 1920X1080 at medium settings I don't play games like Crysis . I am a casual gamer. Which other card do you suggest ? I can spend 110$ on the card. Thanks in advance.... :D .

I already have a 450W power supply. Will that be enough? I am interested to SLI 2 9600GT. How much power will I need?

I have a SLI setup like with a corsair 520hx, and it runs fine, about your power supply could you post your, PSU brand and model? also do you already own a Nvidia chipset capable of sli?

yeah any quality 500W should suffice for SLI. my single 9600GT runs fine on my 430w, i've head reports of them running on 300w's...

A 450w PSU should be since the 9600GT only uses 60w of power. Can you find out what brand and model the PSU is?

An alternative is the Radeon 4650 which trades punches withe 9600GT. Overall they are equal, but each performs slightly better than the other depending on the game benchmark. Power consumption is 47w.

I bought my PC from a local shop so I dont know the name but its written UMAX on it. Also what is nvidia CUDA? I only got vague answers till know. Is it worth it to spend more money on a 9600GT with with CUDA or should I just go with one which doesn't have CUDA support. What is game physics capability?

WTF JAGUAR! the 4670 competes with the 9600GSO/8800GS! the 4650 is slower and completely OWNED by the 9600GT! the 9600GT is in a bit of a niche market untouched by ati at this point, and imo not at all for this generation at least.

every 9600GT (well every single card in the 8, 9 and GTX series) will support CUDA and PhysX. CUDA is a GPGPU (General Purpose GPU) language that allows you to accelerate intensive programs so that they run many times faster than a CPU. eg Badaboom video transcoder. PhysX allows lifelike hardware physics to be calculated on the graphics card, allowing a new generations of games to incorporate new game elements.

Even though the 4670 has reduced clock speeds it has 320 stream processors against the 64 stream processors in the 9600GT. Isn't that an advantage for the 4670 over the 9600GT.It has more stream processors than the GTX280!!!!!!!

Your first answer, from enaher, was a good one. At that price, a single HD4830 is an excellent choice. Whether or not you need another PSU depends on what you have now. "UMAX" sounds like a cheapie that came with the case, and is probably not to be trusted; I wouldn't.

@abhijith. Yes more SPs but a different architecture. NVidia's SPs run at 2 to 2.5 times the speed of the core clock while ATI's SPs run at the same speed as the engine's clock.

There is no way the 4650 can even remotely compete with the GTX280.
