how can i remove the user password from my laptop dell vostro 1000

Hello and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums.

Sorry but we can't help with password issues in case we inadvertently help someone hack into another person's computer system.

All I will say is if it's your password, you'll have no problem doing this in Control Panel>User Accounts where you will need to be logged in under that password protected account in order to make any changes.
