I want to remove the color from the icon labels in XP

Then youll want to change the color of the "Desktop" in Appearance, this is the 'background' of your Icon's text. T.C. TomT

Oh your talking about the shadow effect >.> I figured that out a while back when optimizing for performance and it got on my nerves.

The option is called " Use drop shadows for icon lables on the desktop"

It's listed under system properties /advanced / performance options/ visual effects
