Hey all,
I recently bought and installed a Core 2 Quad 6600. Under task manager and cpu-z, however, it is only showing up as 2 cores. I have the EIST and C1E functions disabled already. Does anyone have any other ideas?

You should try updating the BIOS. If that still doesn't work, you should ask for a RMA for the motherboard.

Hey all,
Managed to figure out what the problem was. I was upgrading from a Core2Duo to a Core2Quad in a current build. Vista has some kind of pseudo drivers under device manager for processors. When I put in the new processor it recognized the Quad Core, but even after removing the Dual Core "drivers" it still wouldn't show 4 cores. I reinstalled the OS and now all 4 cores show up fine. Just another great attribute of Vista.

It has nothing to do with Vista - XP will do the same, as will any current OS.

You should always do a complete reinstall when changing a major component like a motherboard or a CPU.
