Just like the title says.

When I go into BIOS, all 4 cores on my Q6600 are showing up stock, but when I boot to Windows XP Pro, it's only operating under one core. This only happened after a reformat.

Anyone have any ideas as to why?

Did I miss something in the BIOS setup?

ctrl-alt-delete, Windows Task Manager under performance, only shows 1 CPU Usage History graph?

What about device manager. What does that say?

Shows up as Intel Core2Quad Q6600, but only once, whereas my E8400 on this computer shows up twice.

Keep in mind Im also using Vista Ultimate 64 here and XP Pro 32 on the other rig.

Is your task manager perhaps set to display a single graph.

In the task manager check under "View / CPU History".

I would try to reinstall windows again. The orginal post said the machine was running xp sp2. The last post vista64.

Set BIOS to default settings and try a reinstall is what I would do

No, the task manager is not set to view single graph, but only one is showing, and when adobe premier opens it only says single core.

The Q6600 computer is on XP Pro SP2.
MY computer is on Vista 64 with the E8400.

Two different machines, but I was using mine as a reference for how many cores were showing in Windows Task Manager.
