Hello, I purchased a Hauppauge Win-TV-HVR 1800 model 1128 (PCI Express x1 slot) and installed it onto my eMachines t6216 computer. When I loaded windows, it (my pc) ran as if I hadn't installed anything. I manually ran the add new device wizard with no luck. I've been told that I need to enable this in my BIOS, unfortunately i dont see an option that says "enable pci" anywhere.

Here are my computer specs;

eMachines t6216
AMD 64 x2 3800+
3.25gigs of RAM
MSI MS-7207 (K8NGM2-L) motherboard
NVIDIA geForce 7300GT video Card

If you need more information please let me know.

have u tried reseating the device?
does it look like its plugged all the way in?
is there dust/debris in the x1 slot?

edit: just looked at a pic of ur board, is the card clearing the northbridge heatsink? is it touching it? If it is, it's may be shorting which is a whole other issue all together.

Yes I did reseat the device before I posted. However, you did bring up a good point on if it is touching the heatsink. I am not sure if it is or not. I dont wanna assume yet, I will look at it when I get home from work.
