alright. so im building a new system and need help to decide which gpu. my sys is gona be decent..

cpu: INTEL E8400
mobo: ASUS STRIKER II EXTREME
psu: ANTEC QUATTRO 850W

ok so here are the options i have...

dual: 9800 GT $169.00
single / maybe dual later: 9800 GTX+ $239.00
single / dual: 9800 GTX
dual / single: 9600 GT $145.00
single: gtx 260 $339.00
dual: 8800 gs $99.00
any other nvidia cards ?

these prices are CANADIAN. i basically just dont know wheather to go with 1 more expensive single card, or 2 cheaper sli cards. feel freee to suggest, thanks!

ohh and P.S i will probably be running these on a 22" lcd monitor.

yes, single wise. but would dual cheaper cards out preform it?

2 9800 GT and especially 2 9800 GTX cards would outperform a GTX 260, but you need to decide whether the extra expense is worth it. With everything considered, 2 9800 GTs in SLI might be the best solution if you can get them for less than a GTX 260, but if the price is similar then the GTX 260 is likely better for the more consistent performance.
 
I'd get a GTX 260. That way you're OK at 1680x1050. It also leaves you the option to add another one later when it's cheaper. The PSU is fine for GTX 260 SLI (two cards).

That being said, that config doesn't look well balanced to me. You'd pay a ton for the 790i motherboard, and it wants expensive DDR3 too. I think you'd be better off with a P45 motherboard, cheap DDR2-800, and a single but really good video card (GTX 260 Core 216, GTX 280, HD 4870 X2, even GTX 295 if you can wait for it).
