I have a windows 2003 r2 server in an HP Proliant machine,a Unix server on HP RX2660 integrity server and HP workstations with windows xp installed. They are connected in star config through a 48 port switch.Sometimes the network automatically fails and we have to reboot the whole setup.Kindly advise is there any procedure to auto reconnet to lan on all the Pc's on connection time out. email@example.com
More aboutsoftware auto reconnect
Not sure about the linux machines, but XP should automatically reconnect to the windows server whenever you try to access the network drives on that server.
Reboot the computers will reset the network cards. Not sure what else you are asking here about "reconnect to lan". Do you mean the network mapped drives? They should start working again when they see the network up.
