Hi,

I'm looking to get a SATA docking station with both USB & e-SATA connectors. From what I've read, almost all docking stations don't properly support the "Safely remove hardware" feature when connected via e-SATA but works correctly via USB. Does anyone know which docking stations properly support this feature? In the past, I've gone to device manager and disabled, then uninstalled, then removed the HDD but I'm tired of doing that now.

Or if this is tied directly to the AHCI setting on the controller, can anyone recommend an eSATA add-in card that will allow me to do this with, for example, the thermaltake blacx unit?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

If its a SATA drive it will support hotplugging which means you should be able to turn it of and on without worry.
