Upgrading graphics card

I have a 2600xt. my resolution I play at is 1280x1024. my budget is around 75-100 I'll spend 20 more if it is worth it but I just expect a year or so out of it till I upgrade again or even 6 mounths :na: by then save 20 dallars a mounth woots and also should I wait for the gtx 295 before I purchase my upgrade because I am in no hurry

i'm guessing you have a pci-express motherboard and not agp? if you do have pci-express, and you dont wanna spend more than $120, i'd suggest a radeon HD4830.

Realistically, if you're playing at 1280x1024 you dont' need anything better than an 8800GTS/9800GTX or 9800GTX+. Anything more than that might get you more FPS, but frankly you won't get the full benefits of faster cards until you increase your resolution.

Alternatively, the HD4850 ATI card is a very good option. At your resolution you just don't need anything faster for the current games.

Those cards will put you over budget. So I'd look at 9800GT, 4830, those sorts of cards if you have PCI-E
