used bootable internal hard drive

I have a Dell Vostro 1500 Model PP22L that will not read my current hard drive or a new hard drive. I assume this means there is a malfunction with the motherboard. Should I replace the MB or is there a smaller module that is failing? The error code translates "No hard drive found. Re-seat drive and retry.

There is no smaller module to replace. Try to go to BIOS and reset to the default settings to see if it makes any difference. If you know the new HD is good then your mother beard is dead.

Make sure you did not dislodge any connections when you added the second drive.
