I've bought my last piece of crap Cisco/Linksys product. I am now replacing my 3rd router/firewall in 18 months. Before Cisco took over Linksys I had routers that lasted 8 years or more.

Can someone recommend a sub-500 dollar vendor for home wireless/ethernet router/wirewalls? I need one that allows for a lot of port forwarding/PAT/NAT customizations.

I'm also not interested in any Belkin gear.

I have good luck with linksys and DLINK routers...So if you don't like linksys try DLINK.

I'm not to please with my experience with netgear(routers , routers, switches & nic)

Thats my input.... Its your decision....

One of the things i did to protect my network equipment is provide UPS/Surge supressors.
