I had a 1440X900 monitor and it ran perfectly, but I got a bigger monitor now it runs like crap. Should the resolution matter that much? It's just a bit bigger.

Granted it may not seem like much but it has its effects. Imagine having to put a object in your mouth like a ball one that fits perfectly and takes up your whole mouth. Now imagine trying to put a slightly larger ball in your mouth. Not as easy and certainly isn't comfortable. Well that's how your PC feels right now. Your best bet is you lower the res in game and find one that gives you the highest res with the most acceptable performance.
1440x900=1 296 000 pixels
1920x1200=2 304 000pixels
so thats like almost twice as many pixels, and if the vram on the card isn't enough to hold all the textures etc at the higher rez you're gonna get performance killing swapping.
Based on that benchmark, it should still be playable. But looking at the benchmarks, you do notice a ~33% performance drop from 1440x900 to 1920x1200. Beside that, monitor your CPU/memory usage during gameplay, could give a clue on what is happening.
How many FPS did you have before and how many do you have now? The subjective "playable" and "unplayable" really depend on the person.
