my rig:
Intel core 2 duo e8400 3ghz
HDD 500 gb SATA 2
VGA ATI 4670 512MB
Mobo Asus p5q-e
RAM ddr2 CORSAIR XMS2 2gb (2 x 1gb) dual channel

i already have:

DDR2 CORSAIR XMS2 1GB-6400/800 BUS (2 x 1gb dual channel)

Latency 5-5-5-18

i want to add :

DDR2 CORSAIR XMS2 2GB-6400/800 BUS (2 x 2gb dual channel)
Latency 5-5-5-18

This will make it :
Same Speed + Same Latency Memory + DIFFRENENT Memory Size

it will become 2gb + 4gb = 6gb ddr2 RAM

This is OK??

1) it should only be 2gb , 4gb or 8gb to work as dual channel ddr2 ???
2) will 6gb work perfectly with dual channel???

plz do help
thanks in Advance...

How do you know she/he is not virtualizing or doing something else that could utilize the RAM (CAD/CAM)? ...and in that case it would not be a waste.

All the sudden THG's article means noone's got a use for anything above 4GB. Sheesh, I hope they don't say the moon's made out of cheese or some of you will be quoting that too.
