Well, my old main rig died on me :( , my old Pentium D 805 died... well after so much abuse, im surprised it lasted so long, jajaja, im planing on replacing it with a new build to do the same things, web surfing, instant messaging, internet flash games, watching anime, downloading, light stuff... the hardest ill push will be playing spore at 1280x1024 on my old Dell LCD, the thing is i want it to be eco freindly my pentium d overclocked at 4ghz was hot and power hungry, ill be going green... as green as i can at least.

Proc AMD ATHLON X2 5050e: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103298
MOBO ECS 780G http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813135075

Ill be reusing my G.Skill Pi Black, Actually Adding another set for 8 gigs and reusing my seagate 250 gb 7200.10 in raid 0 and a Buying a larger drive for storage, also reusing power supply pcp&c 500w and my MSI 4670 and Ati Theater 650...

Id like to ask what do you think, of it and feedback for a large hdd, ive never used ECS any feedback on this particular mobo, would be great, but i want these to be cheap & stable an if its worth to get a Phenom x4 9350e instead of the 5050e, as i said its not going to be used for heavy application or OC, but might be worth to get a quad.

Also ill be using 64 bit OS Ubuntu and Vista

early thanks for all your comments

For Linux support plez contact the Linux section.

I recommend the Geforce 8200 chipset for AMD motherboards as Nvidia chipset support tends to be better than Ati video chipsets. That's if your using the IGP. If the 4670 is supported well, then it should work anyway. I'm no Linux expert.
