CPU Upgrade for AMD X2 4200 AM2

Hi everyone.

I'm in need of some advice here, I'm upgrading my PC which currently has the following setup:

Mobo: MSI - K9N Platinium
CPU: AMD X2 4200 socket AM2
RAM: 2Gb DDR2 800

I'm getting another 2Gb ram module, no problem with that, now, which CPU do you recomend? I was looking at the AMD X2 6000+ but its says socket AM2+ . Is it the same? what's with the "+"?

you may have to update your BIOS

You are right, I do. I've never done a BIOS upgrade, how long does it take using a USB pendrive? Do I need a UPS just in case of a power failure?

If it only takes a few seconds I might give it a try without a UPS, if its more than 30s I wouldnt risk it.

the AMD X2 6000+ isnt AM2+, its just AM2.
