2.5" SATA to USB

I had a Transcend StoreJet 2.5 IDE S. Apparently it's hard drive is screwed coz whenever I connect it to my PC, it makes a rhythmic tick-tock sound. So anyways, I just upgraded my SATA notebook drive, and have the old one left. It fits into the Transcend drive enclosure, and I was hoping to use it as an external drive. However my old laptop notebook has a SATA interface, while the Transcend drive used a IDE hard drive with an adapter for IDE to USB. I was wondering where I could find a SATA to USB adapter for this specific case (Transcend StoreJet 2.5 IDE S), and what this adapter thing is actually called :p
Thanks!

  1. The electronics are different, you will need to buy a compatible enclosure.
  2. Yeah but does anybody where I can get one? I couldn't find it.
  3. I searched Newegg by clicking through Computer Hardware ... Hard Drives ... External Enclosures ... 2.5" size ... SATA I/II Internal Interface. It found 40 units to consider. I presume you will want to use a USB connection to your notebook.
  4. Yeah, thanks a lot :)
