My External Hard drive isnt working

I recently got a Seagate 500gig usb external hard drive and it was working fine. All of a sudden it suddenly stopped working. My computer does not recognize it and it made a buzzing noise for some time and then stopped. It still powers on and all that and I looked at the usb port and it looks slightly bent. Could this be the problem? and can i fix it?

Are you refereing to the USB port on the external drive or your computer?
Try the drive in a different USB port or another computer enitrely and/or with a different cable. If its the port on the external housing that looks damaged then you would need to remove the HDD from the housing and have a tech test it to verify if the drive is OK.

The buzzing noise (or ticking noises) likely indicates the drive has failed.
