I was here a few months ago and in someone's post or guide i saw a link to another site with graphs and information about what each clock cycle of a cpu consists of (like it had what looked like a sine-type graph, with information about it), and i can't find it anymore. i've tried wiki-ing it and google-ing it for the past hour and i can't find a simple graph of it. can someone point me in the right direction?

more specifically, it talked about how like one cycle/clock would be one 0 to 0 of a sine graph, and how intel sometimes uses like double stepping or something to make it do two or four processes per clock instead of just one? help would be much appreciated!

Perhaps you're thinking about "superscalar" processors? In any case, here's a college level course covering CPU architecture: http://aplcenmp.apl.jhu.edu/Notes/Malcom/605411/
