6gb Ram.. vista 32bit or 64 bit?

Hey.
im looking to buy this but i was wondering since it has 6gb Ram dose that mean it has to be windows 64bit? or will its still be vista 32bit?

6GB = > 4GB usable if in 32bit.

it had better be a 64 bit os
because I think you can only get 3.2 gigs to work in a 32 bit os even if you have 4 gigs installed

The amount usable varies from system to system. I have 4GB here on a XP Pro system and have 3.50 GB of RAM usable. Factors that cause the variation are what hardware is in the system, how much memory on graphics card, etc.

I think the max for Vista 32bit is 3.25 - 3.5 GB usable RAM. That's why you see a lot of i7 builds list only 3GB of RAM, if the planned OS is Vista or XP 32bit.

Vista 64 bit will "see" all 6 gb of RAM

32 bit OSes see a maximum of about 3.3 gig including the RAM on your gfx card .

Either wont make a difference to performance .

Moving up from 3 gig to 6 and then 12 made no significant performance difference even with Vista 64 bit

If you bought more than 3 gig od ram you were throwing money away
