Rs232 to usb

Anyone know how to convert or build a rs232 to usb conversion? is it possible? Ive looked for answers but have come up with nothing. Machines I work with have an ethernet port, rs232 port and a flopppy drive and Im running out of HD floppy disks let alone the fact that they get corrupted in this enviroment. I would like to use my jump drive as I do for all the other machines we have. Any help would be great! thanks.

You can't, the performance would be awful.
Best bet would be a PCI/PCIe USB card or an Ethernet to USB adaptor.

would it be worse than using a 3 1/2 floppy? EDM machines are from the early 90's and this *** is killing me lol
