Why are my icons hidden? and cannot right click

hello. I recently had an trojan virus that pretty muched hid or took off all my icons and stuff in my start menu. I got the virus off but i still cant put stuff on the desktop and the start menu is still pretty much blank. plz help

do a non-destructive re-install of windows.

Check that show icons is turned on, or no icons will show on the desktop.

Right-click desktop>Arrange Icons by>Show desktop icons
