CPU overclocked from 2.4GHz to 2.66GHz @ 67oC 100% CPU load Tags: CPUs Stress Test Overclocking Last response: May 14, 2010 12:10 AM in Overclocking Share Jason761 May 6, 2010 10:51:42 PM I have a Core 2 Quad Q6600 overclocked from 2.4GHz to 2.66GHz. I did a stress test and at the middle of the stress test at got 67oC. Is this too hot for a CPU at 100% load? More about : cpu overclocked 4ghz 66ghz 67oc 100 cpu load Jason761 May 7, 2010 12:23:21 AM When its idle its 40oC. Is this okay too? stridervm May 7, 2010 12:24:51 AM It's fine, just making it past 74c is the danger zone, which can cause stress tests to fail by temperature alone. Still making it lower should still be your goal. Idle temps can vary, some of us think the sensors are not accurate at lower temperatures. You can put an aftermarket cooler on that Q6600 and overclock it well past 3GHz, AND its temps will be lower than what you are getting now.
