Best Way to Test Memory?

I read somewhere that you should test your PC's memory regularly, since faulty memory is the most common cause of BSODs and other kinds of system lockups. What's the most thorough and accurate way to test memory? Appreciate any suggestions.

most stress testing applications come with CPU and Memory tests, I use orthos as for my stress testing requirements
