Will sunbeam CCTF heatsink fit am3 motherboard?

On the specs it says its compatible with Socket 754 / 939 / 940 / AM2 / LGA 775.

What socket is an AM3?

Just got my heatsink today and installed it. So yea it will fit an AM3 motherboard. Infact you don't need to remove the backplate. It clamps right on.

Glad it worked. In most cases coolers will fit unless you have tall ram/chipset heatsinks.

Yea in my case it almost didn't work. I had to set it up so that the fan is pulling the air from the cpu to the rear exhaust fan. I wasnt able to set it as a push fan because my tall ram chips blocked it.

Yep, and AMD sockets want the ram in the two closest slots too I think. On my i5 it would have been pretty close if it weren't that the ram could go one extra slot over.
