I need help overclocking my system. I have read a few website, watched some you tube videos and forums but i don't seem to be able to get the concept of this.

I will list my system specs first

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor Model HDZ955FBGIBOX

ASUS M4A78T-E AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

Antec EarthWatts EA650 650W

Thematek heatsink

Two HIS H485FN512P Radeon HD 4850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP

OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ3P16004GK

I am hoping to overclock my system to around 3.8 and maybe high if i can.

I can't seem to be get my ram to do its speed. I have done a few searches on the web on what i should set it as but i can't seem to get it stable.

I get the blue screen of death (physical memory dump) when i try to change anything and i will increase the voltage but don't seem to work.

I am running out of patience and have tried many times. Can somebody tell me what to set my settings at in my bios?

Thanks for your time!

exactly what cpu cooler do you have?
for the ram: try DECREASINGthe voltage...

xigmatek redscorpion is my heatsink

i tried a lower voltage on my ram and it won't even boot...i had it set at 7-7-7-24 2t and 1t at 1.7 to 1.8v

when you say i cant get the ram to do its speed what exactly does it mean? if ur saying its running at a lower clock rate then its no biggies cuz afaik theres no noticable performance diffrence. try finding an option in bios that makes any cpu oc not apply to the ram...if u know what i mean. i thinki its the cpu to ram ratio (fsb to ddr3 rate) or something i think!

i take a look at it

i posted on OCZ forum to see if their tech guys can help me get my ram to run stable.

isn't it not normal if can't easily overclock my system to 3.6 and have it run stable...

i've seen so many videos where people can just easily over clock their system by cranking up the voltage and multipliers...

Will this be a good build to overclock 2500k to 5.0GHz?

I'm the one that told him that a Silver Arrow will get to 5Ghz, so I'll take the blame...
