Hello, I have 2 motherboards in my possession and need one for my new build. I need to know which board will be a better performer for overclocking and video rendering.

1st Board:
ASUS P5E
X38 Chipset
DDR2 Memory Support
1066 FSB
ASUS P5E

2nd Board:
Intel DP45SG
P45 Chipset
DDR3 Memory Support
1333 FSB
Intel DP45SG

Will be using a Q6600 2.4GHz quad-core processor, 4GBs of RAM, and 1 ATI 4890 video card.

I do not want a different board or CPU recommendation.

Your help is greatly appreciated. :)

Well I think if you are going to use a Q6600 then the x38 board is better, but if you are going to upgrade to a 45nm CPU then go for the P45. The X38 doesn't overclock well with 45nm CPUs. I have an ASUS Maximus Formula which is basically a P5E with better bios i believe, and a Q6600. The board is great for overclocking the Q6600, but when i had a 45nm E8200 i couldn't overclock past 425Mhz FSB.

the DP45SG probably would be better for rendering videos, considering the new 45nm's are faster than the old 65nm. If you get a 9xxx series with more cache then rendering videos should be much better than a Q6xxx series, and you get sse4 the the new processors, which should give a little boast in apps that use it. the DDR3 memory however is not very useful so you would be paying more money for not so much performance. if you ever decided to overclock your CPU the P45 motherboard and 45nm processor is the way to go. if you aren't planning any overclocking then you could still get better performance from the 45nm processor at stock speeds than the 65nm's at stock. hope this helps
