Gigabyte make good boards, but I haven't seen many people using 770s for overclocking. I use a 780g model, and many use 785g models for solid results.

The link in my sig is done on my GA-MA780g-UD3H motherboard from gigabyte. This is not a daily overclock. I use 3.8ghz for daily, and have trouble running stable without too much volts at 4.0ghz+.

Should be fine to get there with almost any m/board... all multi so very little strain on the board.

What voltage does it take for you to hit 4.0G stable?

You're not going to get anywhere near 7000+ mhz, with any motherboard on the planet without some serious extreme cooling like LN2, I hope the OP has better sense than to think he'll reach that kind of speeds just because he buys your motherboard suggestion.

There's a big difference between a shoot for the moon overclock and something the guy can achieve with either air or water cooling, you might want to at least take into consideration what the OP is simply asking for, when you suggest something.

That M/B should do nicely, it sports DDR3 memory and even USB3.0, I see no reason with a little OCing studying you couldn't reach 3.8Ghz with that motherboard you're already looking at.

What exactly is your situation?

Do you already have components in your possession?, or is this a scratch build completely new?

Most ASUS Motherboards do overclock well, and I see a lot of plus's about that motherboard, its ability to support DDR3 2000 memory is a plus to me because I already own that memory, my concern about the motherboard is not everything coming out the front door of ASUS is pure gold.

The lack of customer reviews from Newegg and Tiger Direct have me a little concerned, I wish for you there was more customer feedback about the product.

As far as overclocking it is concerned I have no direct first hand knowledge about that exact ASUS motherboard model, but all my ASUS motherboards I've owned in the past have been great overclockers.

I've owned one lemon motherboard from ASUS, it took 3 RMA replacements to finally get a survivable motherboard from them that still works today, all my other ASUS motherboards I purchased were fully joy, no problems.

As I've already said my concern is a lack of customer reviews about that particular motherboard, but it is a new product, so go for it, if that's what you want.

It takes 1.488v in CPUID, 1.5v in bios to stabilize my 965 at 4.0ghz.
