Except for suggested uninstalling USB drivers all Microsoft suggestions for curing this problem -- all USB ports not working -- have been tried to no effect. My XP professional says all USB ports are functioning. Rebooting and re-plugging does not solve problem. Power availabilty to ports seems OK. Suggestions would be appreciated. John

Don't uninstall drivers. Waste of time.

Click:

Start>Control Panel>System>hardware>Device manager

Click the plus [+] sign in front of "Universal Serial Bus controllers"

Right-click on each one and select "uninstall"

Do this for all of them BELOW "Universal Serial Bus controllers"

When you get done Click "Action" at the top of the window

Select "Scan for hardware changes"

All USB controllers will be put back again.

Try your USB device again.
