im upgrading from 2gb ( 2 x 1gb Dual-Channel) to 8gb (4 x 2gb) but the problem is im buying used KingstonValue Ram from a friend at really cheap price

its any of these:

Kingston 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) CAS 6 :

Kingston 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) CAS 5 :

im going to buy $15 each 2gb ram ddr2

but the problem it some are CAS6 & other Are CAS5

1) will they work together as Dual-Channel??
2) do CAS5 & CAS6 RAM work together as Dual Channel??

my rig:
MoBo: Asus p5Q-E
processor: Intell e8400 3ghz
Hdd: 500 gb sata2 WD
RAM: CORSAIR XMS2 CM 1GB 800Mhz

NOTE:
I will Replace ALL my Corsair 2gb (2 x 1gb) ram WITH KingstonValue Ram.

only by trying them can you tell for sure if they will be stable.

I had bad luck with kingston value ram in the past.

With 8 GB (and a x64 operating system) you may need to add voltage to the Northbridge, relax timings and increase memory voltage for it to work.

1) Yes
2) Yes, they will default to CAS 6, the slower speed.

With your board you should be able to set the timings for the ram to run at all the same speeds. I would think that you need to put the CAS 6 in first. The CAS 5 will run at the lower clock. I'm not exactly sure that it will work, but it never hurt to try.

And also, I have Kingston everything and have not had any problems with any of it. (2) 4GB Flash Drives, a 4GB MicroSD card, 1.5GB of DDR ValuRam, and 4GB of HyperX.
