To start off, I understand most computer jargon. I understand which CPU works with what motherboard, what RAM fits on what motherboard, etc.
Unfortunately, I am in a predicament. I have been messing around on Newegg trying to make a "gaming rig" with no peripherals [mouse, speakers, keyboard] for under 1300 USD. The only problem seems to be that I might be asking too much. Currently, the three things that I require are a GTX 280 [unless of course, there is a better video card for less (benchmark-wise)], Vista Ultimate 64-bit, and 1TB. I will not be SLI'ing, however I will be overclocking. If at all possible please keep in mind the system will be hooked up to a 2408WFP, so that means games will run at 1920x1200 [or something like that, I presume]. Also, I would like the case to have enough room inside to allow lots of airflow and good cable management.
If any of these requirements are at all crazy for the price, please either tell me what to change, or, change the price to about 1500 USD, although I would rather you not change the pricetag.
Second question, is this a great heatsink for a CPU :
