OC my Q9550.

Right. So I've got me a brand new Q9550 from Microcenter.

here are specs:

Case: Storm Sniper Cooler Master

Cooler: Corsair H50 Liquid cooler. (Preforms like High-End air cooler)

Paste: IC Diamond 24 carrot Thermal Compound. (Rapes AS5 by like 3 C)

Mobo: Asus X48 Rampage Fourmala DDR2.

What Settings should i use to get the best safe Oc I can?

The most voltage you can achieve <= 1.36v while keeping Prime95 heat below 70c. FSB clock should be adjusted at this time as well. Those are the best safe settings. Not including speedstep/c1e/ram ratios/clocks/timings.

As long as your temps are under 70c you're safe. For 24/7 i'd keep it under 65 or better yet 60.

The max settings you can use depends on how your CPU handles the heat (among other things, but those are irrelevant to you now).

But the max safe settings are already specified by intel (1.36v/72c, if I remember right)

Gratz let us know how it goes.

The E0s are great. I got lucky with mine, and have it runnin on 3.9ghz 1.28v for 24/7.

My VTT is 1.25v and my MCH(NB) is at 1.35v. 459FSB is a lot easier for my mobo so I run at 3.9 24/7 instead of my spec 4.0. (I'm probably going to add it once I fully record my tests) This way I keep my temps below 55c on the cores during Prime 95 and under 60c on the NB. 4.0 creeps me closer to 60c to the cores and up to 65c on my mobo. Not worth the 100mhz IMO. :)
