Im new to Ocing, and am wondering what a decent OC for a q6700 is. I don't want to add a lot of heat, just want to add a little power to my gaming rig.

Specs
q6700 CPU (Cool Master Hyper N520 heatsink/fan) around 40C idle.
G.SKILL 8GB (4 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1100 (PC2 8800) Quad Kit
EVGA 01G-P3-1282-TR GeForce GTX 280 Superclocked
EVGA 132-YW-E178-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI FTW Mother Board
XCLIO GREATPOWER X14S8P4 850W Power Supply

Thanks in advance ;)

Well, just make sure that you do not get past ~ 60°C, keep it below 55°C if possible (full load, Prime 95).

really? i thought the cores would be safe till at least 70, considering they can go to 100?

Keep it below 70*C and you will be fine.

Ok thanks. Anyone have some idea of the correct settings? Using my board, if i set it to Dummy OC on anything, it won't boot right.

Will this be a good build to overclock 2500k to 5.0GHz?

I'm the one that told him that a Silver Arrow will get to 5Ghz, so I'll take the blame...
