Rebuild with new Mobo - no joy

Suggestions solicted. I was given a e-machines PC that was kaput and decided to rebuild it using a new motherboard: ASRock M266A. After assembly, it will not boot up - the fans run - but there is no video output at all, no post messages, nothing. I swapped power supplies; no change.

Try unplugging everything except the necessary stuff, that means, hard/floppy/cdrom drives, any extra pci cards/etc.

??? did you check for ram compatibility with the new mobo ,,and,, you did plug everything in that needed to be so and,made sure that all plugs/cards were firmly seated etc,,,.

Pug_s and dokk2: Done all that. Unfortunately I have no extra RAM on hand, so I can't swap it.
