I finally got my new rig fixed and built started playing some games with my friends.

My friend says that if I play with anti aliasing my video card will overheat and die. Or over time.

Is that true?

I don't get it, I don't believe this just by turning your graphics on 8 aa 16 a/f that shortens the video card life?

I always use to think overclocking cpu/gpu would shorten hardware life not simply changing aa/af on...

haha your friend needs to be kicked in the sack, he just wants to able to say his gpu gives a better picture than yours. aa/af is perfectly fine if you need it. with that said you do loose a little performance as you increase the aa though.
