Ok thats it im buying my new card on monday but now which one do i buy either the HD4870 512mb or the HD48501GB?? i game on a res of 1690x1050 and i need to know which one is better for me?

the gig of vram becomes usefull at 1900*1200 or there abouts, depending on the game and graphics settings (detail, AA etc)

Definitely the 4870 512MB. 512 MB is plenty for moderate resolutions like yours.
