To switch from IDE legacy emulation mode to AHCI Serial ATA mode you would need a registry tweak; google on that. After you changed the registry item, you can enter BIOS, enable AHCI, and boot back in Windows. | Report abuse welliam June 6, 2010 12:19:22 AM I read here that someone suffer from that, thanks | Report abuse rodmanlab June 7, 2010 5:35:17 PM I highly recommend that you backup your system, change the BIOS settings to AHCI - compatible mode (as far as I understand, "enhanced mode" is for IDE drives) and re-install your OS ... easiest and safest way to go. | Report abuse Register or log in to remove Ask the community Publish Tom's Hardware>Forum>Storage>Should I use AHCI ?> Related ressources: ForumWhat should i use RAID Autodetect / AHCI or RAID Autodetect / ATA???
