What the best practice for DDR3?

I want to install 4G of memory.Whats the best combination for ddr3 motherboard ? Fill the 3 triple channel slots and one more of the other channel or the first four slots working as doual channel? Or maybe only the 3 slots as a tripple channel ?

If you have a tri channel board (X58), 4GB will not give optimal performance. Install 3GB (3x1GB) or 6GB (3x2GB) instead - besides, 6GB isn't that expensive anymore.

the use of 6G require vista x64 ?

It doesnt require vista x64, but if you have x32 you will only be able to see around 3GB of it.
