Hello all,

I would like to build a HTPC to keep all of my digital media consolidated and clean up my living room a bit. I'm planning on using this for my build:

-Gigabyte GeForce 9400 mATX motherboard
-Intel E5200
-4GB DDR2 800 memory
-500GB HDD in case (several 1TB drives in server)
-Antec Fusion 350/430 (not sure yet)
-Windows XP MCE

However, I'm still a little fuzzy on other components of my build and how to get the media from my physical collection onto my hard drives. I have a different computer for encoding, so the processor on the HTPC is for playback exclusively. I'm also planning on using an old PC as my server.

My questions are:
-Which tuners should I use if I want to create a HD DVR capable of recording HD cable/satellite?
-Which software will I need to move the movies from my Blu-Rays, HD-DVDs, and DVDs to my hard drives?
-What is the best way to store Blu-Rays and HD-DVDs without losing quality (ie, can I store HD content in a compressed format without losing quality)

The output display is unfortunately only a 720p Panasonic Viera, but I still think the picture is stunning.

I'm trying to do all of this as inexpensively as possible, so a target of $500 is my goal.

Thanks in advance!
