Greetings:

My Dish receiver has two audio outputs and a video output in the rear but
when I connect them to my vhs recorder I get nothing. According to the
instructions it apears that the signal from the satellite receiver output is
different from the broadcast signalfor regular TV. Is there any way I can
use the satellite output for my vhs recorder?

Regards,
Charles

Make sure that you have connected it properly to the VCR's INPUT. Also
make sure you've switched the VCR to record from the input and not from
its internal tuner.

Put in a blank tape and try recording something. Some VCR's don't put
out anything in a raw composite video mode unless they are actually
recording.

The composite video signal from the satellite receiver may be a bit wider
than the one from your TV tuner, but that should pose no real problem for
the VCR.

Paradoxically, most real events are highly improbable.

Shoudn't be a problem. Typically all VCRs have three input recording
settings 1. COAX 2. RCA Jacks (rear) 3. RCA jacks (front). Make sure your
VCR is set to record from your selected input. Generally, they're listed as
options L1, L2, L3 on your menu.

Is your receiver compatible with your VCR?
I.E. Same type of format?

Explain what you(or rather they) mean by that, in detail!

There should be.
Isn't there a COAX output as well from your receiver?
There should be.
Try that, going from that into the antenna/coax INPUT of your VCR, with
the VCR's output going into the TV.
See anything?

If not, then something's wrong!
