I have a MSI P6NGM-L mobo and E5200 with stock fan, i was able to push it to 3.33ghz with stock fan and it was around 40 deg. idle and 50 max in-game.

If i were to get the vandetta 2 or Cooler Master Hyper TX2.
How far can i get? Can i reach 3.6 or 3.8 no probs?

By the way, when i got it to 3.33ghz one day i turned my computer on and i got a blue screen about setting my computer settings back to original settings, didn't bother to read the whole thing but it went back to 2.5ghz. What could of been the problem? It was like ages after the OC. I thought i was safe lol.

Solution

No way to know without trying. But better cooling can't hurt.

The best I was able to do with mine was 3.78 GHz in an old G'byte P35 motherboard. Even running vcore up to 1.6 volts  didn't help.
