hey

ive been reading some articles about the card and many are saying that under full load it needs A lot less power to use it?

is this true and would a 530Watt psu power it happily?

also whats worth the upgrade one of these or another 8800gt in terms of performance, will one of these completly destroy the 8800gt in sli?

If you can affort it. YES, but i think that the gtx280 is a better bang ATM, or event a GTX260.

Minimum System Power Requirement (W) 550 W *from nvidia site*

this 530w you have is probably a "generic" psu that i dont think is going to handle a GTX280 or GTX285

I would look to see if the standard 280 drops in price after the 285 comes out, other than that to go below the rated specs you need a high quality PSU. If you go for a new one look at a Corsair 550w, or another reputable brand like PC P&C.

and one more thing, a GTX 280 need 40amp. be SURE the PSU youll buy can push it.

No, that card will not DESTROY 8800GT's in SLi.
