This is my first build ... my budget is around 800-900 bucks. I could go higher if it's important but no higher than $1000. I'm going to use this pc for gaming and some school work. I'm going to play games like Fallout 3, Left 4 Dead, Crysis, Farcry 2, all the games this holiday season. I don't need to play Crysis at max settings. I would also like if the PC was easy to upgrade, + best bang for buck.

OS: Vista Home Premium 64

Total: $888.34 + $32.69 (shipping) = $921.03
With MIRS: $921 - $100 = $821

You've done a very good job of putting this rig together! I'd pick the 4850 for the extra $10 for sure. You'll also want to go with a 64-bit OS so you can use all 4Gb of RAM and have the option of adding more RAM in the future if you need to. I highly doubt you need Vista Ultimate. This version is very popular and inexpensive.

Here's a link that compares the different versions so you can decide which one you need:

I personally use 64-bit Vista. It's been a great OS for me. It's been very stable and I haven't run into any compatibility problems at all with it.

great job finding quality parts. the scary part is, it is 90% identical to the system that i just built for my friend. i agree w/short, go with the 4850. the only different between your system and my friends is that, i used the Antec Sonata III case and it includes a PSU, which was on sale for 79.99$ on newegg.

go with Vista 64. it's a great OS.
