Could you use a 9800 or a 8800 with a 305 power supply in a dell E510if you have special power supply converter. If you can, can someone link a converter that I could use for it.

It's been done before using the dual molex to 6 pin power adapter that most cards come with.
Thing is, it puts more of a strain on an already low wattage psu, and yours is a few years old, so I wouldn't recommend it.
You can upgrade the psu using almost any standard ATX unit, just make sure that the amperage is equal to or greater than recommended for the card.
This Antec would do

I've got a PNY geforce 9800 GT running in Dimension E521 (305W) and it works..for how long is anyones guess. Most people reckon Dell underrate the PSU anyway..You'll need a spare power adapter and I have barebones on mine (DVD drive single HD)
